**About your new role**:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Dietitian to work with a fantastic multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent care to our consumers. The position will provide Dietetic interventions to Mental Health consumers, advocating for and providing a holistic approach to nutrition care. The position will assess and address clinical risks associated with mental health conditions, disordered eating, malnutrition, swallowing difficulties, diabetes and assist with strategies and practices that help consumers to improve their eating behaviours and dietary intake.
**Where you will be working**:
The team at the Maitland MHIPU consists of nursing, allied health and medical health professionals. Our team is built by senior clinicians who hold a wealth of experience and knowledge. Joining the team is an exciting prospect as there are fantastic mentoring and learning opportunities, as well as the chance to provide education and support for the wider team regarding Nutrition care.
The Maitland Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIPU) is located at the New Maitland Hospital at Metford. The unit is a modern and contemporary space where inpatient care is provided for patients who are receiving either voluntary or involuntary care for acute mental health conditions. The New Maitland Hospital is a lovely new building, with amazing architectural design points and artworks that represent the local area.
We are part of the Hunter New England Local Health District Mental Health Service which is known for its contemporary practice and strong focus on quality improvement.

**Requirements**:
- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
