Job Overview:

The Dietitian plays a vital role in delivering exceptional care to consumers within the mental health unit. They will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic nutrition care, advocating for consumers and addressing clinical risks associated with mental health conditions, disordered eating, malnutrition, swallowing difficulties, and diabetes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based Dietetic interventions to Mental Health consumers
  • Develop strategies to improve consumer's eating behaviours and dietary intake
  • Assess and address clinical risks associated with mental health conditions, including disordered eating and malnutrition
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care

Requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor or postgraduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Have a keen interest and experience in mental health Dietetics, with a focus on providing person-centered care
