As the Clinical Assistant, you will be involved in the collection of appropriate quality blood and non-blood specimens from clients of Pathology Queensland as per protocols, utilising a variety of collection techniques as necessary.

**Key competencies**:

- Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy utilising various collection techniques on a variety of patient demographics, adhering to established guidelines and policies.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner with and without supervision within a team environment. Ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- A demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
- Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviou

**Qualifications, registration and other requirements**:

- While not mandatory, a Certificate III or IV in Pathology Assistance/Pathology Specimen Collections or the equivalent would be an advantage
- It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
