**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
An opportunity exists for an animal and farming enthusiast to join our farm - Rainbow Goats.
- Casual Role, minimum 3 hours per day, typically of 3 or 4 days per week including some weekend shifts
- Use your practical and farm skills to support a growing local business
- Work in an animal-loving environment
- Spend time with fabulous goats including 30+ baby goats

- Nimbin-based farm, with some work at nearby locations
- Training will be provided on the job and paid at the appropriate rate.

The position is covered by the Pastoral Award 2020, Farm and Livestock Hand Level 1, $26.72 per hour, including casual loading. Superannuation and Taxation will be applied as per legislative requirements.

The position is on a casual basis, but will usually require 3 or 4 shifts of three hours per week and regular attendance in order to ensure the well-being of the herd and pasture.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- feeding milk to baby goats and checking them for parasites
- keeping baby goat area and equipment clean
- checking on the adult herd that is contained in electric fencing
- installing & troubleshooting electric fence when necessary
- moving fence every day or every few days
- topping up water & minerals
- making sure no goats are missing or looking sick
- giving treatments to sick goats
- trimming hooves and treating hoof rot
- installing and fixing permanent goat fence on boundaries
- work safely at all times, with regards to your training and experience
- other general farm duties & property maintenance as required

- Experience in farm life and caring for animals
- An understanding of safe work practices
- A strong love for animals and animal welfare
- Passion for working outdoors, regardless of the weather (when safe to do so).
- Understanding and respect of the land and land management, or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of farm life and work
- Ability to work as part of a team, ask questions when unsure, and make suggestions.
- Confidence to ask questions and make suggestions for the benefit of the team and herd.
- General fitness as required to carry out the duties and responsibilities outlined in the position description.
- Any other duties as required with regards to your skills, training and experience.

To be successful in this role, the ideal applicant will possess:
Qualifications:

- Drivers license

**Experience**:

- Outdoor work or farming experience would be ideal
