**About the Role**
**Leveraging off their previous clinical practice experience, and consulting widely with their colleagues & peers JMIAs will Identify and implement opportunities to improve clinical practice by**:
- Acting as a conduit for the EMR & Informatics program to:
- Develop an understanding of the EMR and Informatics particularly in the areas of new functionality listed above and be able to act as a conduit between the EMR and Informatics team and clinical colleagues.
- Provide clinical expertise and advice to the EMR and Informatics team throughout the different stages of the project.
- Collaborate closely with clinicians to ensure that the advice they give reflects broad experience and the views of your colleagues
- Ensure appropriate additional clinical representation is available for relevant and Informatics activities
- Provide expert opinion on and Informatics system usability
- Advocate for the and Informatics at relevant clinical fora / meetings
- May be required to be representatives for clinical services different to own personal areas of interest
- Driving consensus and making decisions on behalf of the areas you represent to standardise documentation and work flow processes
- Use the expertise gained in your clinical position to work with the EMR and Informatics team to support the translation of clinical practice into electronic workflows, features & functions.
**Ensure that the design of system solutions includes consideration for**:
- Clinical research requirements and opportunities
- Facilitates and complies with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) requirements
- A focus on the patient, family and carer's experience
- Leverage the clinical evidence base and existing policies / procedures to ensure EMR and Informatics related design decisions are consistent with Monash Health practice
- Update or create relevant Monash Health policies and procedures relating to clinical activities that will be affected by the introduction of the EMR and Informatics
- Assist with change management activities related directly to the introduction of new EMR and Informatics functionality
**Participation in EMR and Informatics activities**:
- Document and describe clinical work flows to assist dialogue and solution development
- Facilitate the design and layout of clinical Information so that the most important information is emphasised
- Assist in testing the system to ensure that it performs as expected and provide support when the system goes live to ensure a smooth transition for users.
- Advise and review the training regimen to make sure that it will be acceptable for staff in your area(s).
- Escalate persistent or complex clinical issues relating EMR and Informatics design and build to relevant EMR and Informatics governance committees

**Key Selection Criteria**:
- Registered Medical Practitioner
- Interest and/or qualifications in Medical Informatics
- Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues in a team based environment;
- A detailed understanding of workflows and requirements for EMR and informatics build;
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products and technology in general.
- A strong belief in the EMR & Informatics;
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills;
- Well-developed organisational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines;
- Enthusiastic and driven to improve care using process design and technology;
- Resilient and flexible approach to work;
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills;
- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills;
**Other Requirements**
- Driver's License and ability to travel across sites as required
