About our region
West Arnhem Regional Council covers an area of almost 50,000 km2of stunning natural landscape in the western part of Arnhem Land, Northern Territory.
More than two thirds of the region's population of just over 6,000 identify as Aboriginal Australians, residing in a collection of towns, communities, and outstations.
The Council provides a range of local government services across five towns and communities in five wards, including popular tourist destinations.
About the role
The Council Service Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Council services in the Warruwi community.
This includes leading and directing employees, building and maintaining productive teams, and fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include overseeing the delivery of road maintenance and repair, parks and gardens maintenance, sport and recreation services, Centrelink, a crèche, community care programs, and after-school care.
About you
Previous management experience with well-developed skills in asset management, project management, service delivery programs, people management, budget analysis, and business operations.
Proven ability to multitask and effectively manage workloads to meet critical deadlines.
A sound understanding of issues affecting Indigenous communities in remote locations and cultural awareness.
