Overview
Wesley College Melbourne, a Uniting Church school with a rich tradition spanning 155 years, is a diverse, dynamic, coeducational learning community with more than 3,400+ students aged between 3 and 18 years across three main campuses.
In 2016, Wesley established Learning in Residence, a residential facility adjacent to the Senior School on the Glen Waverley campus.
This exciting, multipurpose, Years 9-12, residential development provides a real-life context for holistic experiential learning and builds on the history of boarding and residential learning programs at Wesley.
Role
Applications are invited for the position of Residential Mentor for a Boys residence in the College's Learning in Residence Boarding program, supervising male boarders in Years 7 to 10.
This is a full-time ongoing position, based at our Glen Waverley Campus.
This position includes accommodation in a staff residence close to campus.
Responsibilities
Supervise male boarders in Years 7 to 10 as part of the Learning in Residence program.
Role model, supervise and support the students, including overnight duties across a 7-day roster.
Generate a friendly and warm manner towards students and create a collegial environment within the GW Middle and Senior Schools and in particular the Residence under your care.
Collaborate as part of a dedicated team.
Qualifications and Requirements
Previous experience in working with younger-aged boarders (Years 7-10) is necessary.
Onsite accommodation, separate from student residences, is available for staff if required.
Desirable: driver's licence and a First Aid certificate.
Essential: Working With Children Check and Police Check.
