This is an Expression of Interest opportunity for a pipeline of work towards the end of 2025, across rail projects in Sydney.About the RoleThe Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Primary Systems) will be responsible for but not limited to:· Provide detailed design of HV Substations and HV Reticulation Networks (up to 33kV) following relevant standards like IEC 62271 and AS 60076· Plan and conduct professional engineering works· Develop HV single line diagram and protection single line diagram· Through understanding of HV protection system· Develop technical specifications, e.g. HV switchgear, distribution transformer, battery charger etc.
· Substation (indoor) layouts considering clearances as per Australian Standards, e.g. AS 2067· HV cable design including cable detain and cable sizing (following IEC 60228 and IEC 60853)· Insulation Coordination and lightning protection following.
Including familiarity of relevant standards, e.g. IEC 60071 and AS 1768· Fair knowledge on fault calculation, power quality and harmonics· Meeting with customer to resolve technical issues· Assist with site installation and commissioning· Lead & manage a team of engineers & designers as mentor and/ or Team Leader· Interface with other disciplines, like earthing and bonding, EMI, civil and structural· Develop specifications and interface with management on design issues· Working knowledge on cable sizing software and HV modelling software.What are we looking for from you?
