- **8+ hours per week available, with the potential to increase as the student base grows.**:

**OUR OPERATING HOURS FOLLOW VIC SCHOOL TERM DATES**
- **Mon - Friday 3pm-8pm**:

- **Saturday 10am-3pm**

**SKILLS REQUIRED**
- Maintains a fun and joyful attitude in the workplace
- Has a passion for working with and nurturing children
- Must have experience working with children - doesn't have to be teaching music
- Vocal knowledge and skills
- Able to teach group classes in a calm and relaxed manner
- Is trustworthy and takes child safety seriously
- Great at communicating musical concepts in an easy-to-understand way for children
- Consistently reliable and punctual
- Great at building rapport with students and parents
- Adaptable to different learning styles
- Confident working with children with varying conditions such as ADHD and Autism
- Strong classroom management skills and tools to manage groups of 5 students aged 6 and up
- Patient and playful approach to teaching
- Great organisation and time management skills
- Able to complete administration such as daily lesson notes, marking attendance and lesson planning
- Bring high energy levels to work that inspires children to engage and learn

**MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Teaching music lessons in groups (up to 5) and private settings to mostly primary school-aged children
- Building a strong rapport with students and families.
- Writing weekly lesson notes at the end of each shift.
- Ensure lessons are fun and engaging.
- Follow the Melodic Minds Methodology and Program Framework.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, and abide by workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Enable all students to progress through their musical journey.
- Preparing students for performances.
- Fostering a sense of community between students, families, and team members.
- Plan and prepare lessons concerning individual students' needs, musical interests and abilities.
- Teach music theory, aural skills, and practical techniques to students.
- Always have a nurturing and encouraging approach towards students.

**REQUIRED CERTIFICATES**
- _Current Working with Children check_
- _Australian citizen or permanent resident, or student visa with at least 2 years before expiry_

**WORKING RELATIONSHIP**

You will be contracted as a Casual Employee under the Miscellaneous Award (MA000104) with Super.

**ABOUT OUR STUDENTS**

The students at Melodic Minds Music School are of all ages and backgrounds. Our client base is mostly primary school-aged children, with ages ranging from 5-18. Most students join at the beginning of their musical journey, so your role will primarily be teaching the fundamentals in small groups.

**WHAT WE OFFER**:

- Base remuneration of $32 per hour, increases annually based on job performance. Superannuation is paid under government guidelines.
- Paid for all Events
- Paid Training Days

Ability to commute:

- Frankston, VIC 3199: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
