About your opportunity

In this role you will be a member of our small business digital Agile team - you will represent the voice of the customer and act as the interface between the business and IT. This team specifically focusses on selling small business insurance through partners and have been tasked with finding innovative and original ways to give customers efficient and enjoyable online experiences.

As the Product Owner in this project team, you will be a key leader working with our designers to shape and enhance our online customer journey to add value and make it easy for our customers to do business with us. You will always advocate for the customer and use a creative mindset to prioritise amazing online experiences. We want customers to love interacting with us online and if our customers are happy, then our distribution partners are also happy

By guiding the team towards the Consumer Strategy, the product owner works with the product manager to ensure that the small business package product backlog is prioritised so that the team can deliver the most important features in the most efficient way.

Your typical day will include the following:
- Working with a Business Analyst to define user stories for a new digital feature or customer flow i.e. we may need to add additional sections of cover to the product and we need you to ensure the customer facing questions are clear, easy to understand and logical- Working with the Product Manager to ensure the backlog is prioritised according to benefit delivered - what should we build next - a new insurance cover, better data integration or focus on our reporting analytics?- Meeting with internal stakeholders when we need their expertise to give input or sign off a feature i.e. if we are designing a better method of claims lodgment for the customer we will need you to liaise with the claims representative and ensure the designed flow is appropriate for their needs as well as ours- Share customer insights (from third party research or A/B testing for example) with the product manager and collaborate to ensure that the team solves a real user problem while also making an impact on our business goals- Ensure processes and screen flows for our QBE customer service team is logical and efficient and enables them to offer the high quality service we pride ourselves on a QBE- Be an active participant in Agile sprint ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, shoulder checks, retrospectives and demonstrations

What do I need?

To be successful in this role you will ideally have strong experience within insurance. You will also have the following skills and attributes;- 5+ years experience working in a digital environment- Strong customer service mindset and adaptability to change- A strong understanding of General Insurance (small business package insurance preferred)- Ability to think on your feet and be a nimble decision maker- A curious mindset and an infectious enthusiasm for trying out new approaches- Flexibility to work with a variety of stakeholders internal and external- Creative problem solving and process improvement experience- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail- Planning, preparation, and alignment to strategic objectives for the business unit in line with customer focus
