Busselton, Australia Empire Retreat Full time

Empire Retreat and Spa are looking for a reliable and efficient grounds person who will be responsible for keeping the hotel grounds, spa, other buildings and farm maintained and well presented.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep and maintenance of equipment, fencing, lawns and grounds to ensure the properties efficient operation and safety compliance.

Other hotel maintenance duties and responsibilities may be needed dependant on experience. You can expect physical work that includes using tools and equipment and moving around much of the day, including having to climb ladders, lift heavy items and crawl in tight spaces when necessary. Accommodation may be available for the right applicant.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain and care for the hotel's and farm's gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces.
- Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns; trim and prune trees, and maintain fire breaks.
- Ensure the cleanliness and functionality of outdoor facilities, including walkways, parking areas, and recreational spaces.
- Assist with seasonal planting, weeding, and pest control if required.
- Operate and maintain farm, garden equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute individual projects.
- Respond to any maintenance issues or requests from the hotel and farm management dependant on experience.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure the safe operation of equipment.
- Assist with special projects and events as needed, including setting up and breaking down equipment, furniture, and decorations.
- Compile and maintain job lists for weekly, fortnightly and monthly maintenance needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgements.
- Ability to focus attention on detail, speed and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work weekends or holidays as needed.
- To be able to work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping work areas clean and well organised.
- Ability to multi-task in busy environment and adheres to hotel the Standard Operating Procedures.
- Valid drivers license

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
