**The role**: Walmay are currently looking for a Procurement and Inventory Specialist to join their team, based in their beautiful offices in Melrose Park, Sydney. The Procurement and Inventory Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement processes and inventory levels to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the business. The role will involve working closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders and R&D Team to source, purchase, and track inventory, as well as managing the logistics of the procurement process.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies.
- Identify and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
- Conducting market research and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain supplier relationships.
- Process, check, and validate billing.
- Plan and forecast inventory requirements based on demand and sales data.
- Manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and implement control measures.
- Analyze procurement and inventory data for insights and improvements.
- Generate reports and communicate procurement and inventory metrics.
- Work closely with R&D teams to understand their procurement and inventory needs.

**What we're looking for**:

- 8+ years of experience in procurement, inventory management, or a related field, with experience in R&D procurement preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and develop reports to communicate findings.
- Experience with logistics and supply chain management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of procurement and inventory management software.
