Metering Manager

**The role**:
With a strong focus on innovation and customer service, our Digital Utilities Group is leading the organisation into a more digital future

Meters are a significant part of our digital transformation and as Metering manger you will oversee the operation and maintenance of our customer water meters. This is a pivotal role in ensuring accurate billing and contributing to our ongoing digital meters program.
You will be responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of our customer water meters, both mechanical and digital, while also playing a critical role in acquiring cyclical and special meter reads for billing and be a key stakeholder in our Digital Meters Program.

**Key Accountabilities Include**:

- Lead and develop the Metering team, fostering a culture aligned with our company's vision and values.
- Develop and maintain the Customer Metering Asset Management Plan (AMP) to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
- Monitor the performance of the meter network and use data to optimize and rectify issues.
- Oversee contracts covering meter supply, meter reading, and meter field services, ensuring service levels are met.
- Build technical expertise within the metering team to investigate and resolve complex device issues.
- Manage the forecasting, ordering, and delivery of metering devices to support metering, new connections, and emergencies.
- Ensure timely and accurate reading of all metering devices, handling customer account adjustments.
- Address customer metering complaints and queries promptly and professionally.
- Actively support South East Water's Digital Meters Program and provide expertise in sourcing and deployment strategies.
- Prepare, endorse, and manage business cases for metering budgets/projects, ensuring financial responsibility.
- Report and record all inspections, hazards, incidents, and near misses in our Safety Management System.

**Who are you?**:
A dedicated and experienced professional with a passion for water metering and safety, you will also be able to demonstrate:

- Tertiary qualifications in business or engineering, or equivalent experience in metering, customer service, or asset management.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
- Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong business acumen, including contract management, financial skills, and process improvement expertise.
- Knowledge of metering principles, practices, regulations, legislation, and standards is a plus.
- Customer-focus with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Process management and improvement expertise (highly regarded).
