Job Description

Metering is a vital part of our digital transformation, and as Metering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate billing and contributing to our ongoing digital meters program.

You will oversee the operation and maintenance of our customer water meters, both mechanical and digital, while also managing the acquisition of cyclical and special meter reads for billing. This requires a strong understanding of metering principles, practices, regulations, legislation, and standards.

The role involves leading and developing the Metering team, fostering a culture aligned with our company's vision and values. You will also develop and maintain the Customer Metering Asset Management Plan (AMP) to ensure compliance with industry best practices.

Additionally, you will monitor the performance of the meter network, use data to optimize and rectify issues, and oversee contracts covering meter supply, meter reading, and meter field services. Your technical expertise will be invaluable in investigating and resolving complex device issues.

As Metering Manager, you will manage forecasting, ordering, and delivery of metering devices to support metering, new connections, and emergencies. Timely and accurate reading of all metering devices, handling customer account adjustments, and addressing customer metering complaints and queries promptly and professionally are also key responsibilities.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in business or engineering, or equivalent experience in metering, customer service, or asset management.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with relevant Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong business acumen, including contract management, financial skills, and process improvement expertise.
  • Customer-focus with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
