**In this role you will**:

- Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of services through the implementation of life cycle management and contract management principles, performance and cost monitoring methodologies. This includes an active process to drive savings and efficiencies from existing contracts where opportunities are identified.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and users, seeking feedback to stimulate continuous improvement of services.
- Represent a point of contact within the contract management framework where issues may be escalated.
- Formulate strategies for improvement and provide advice to the Manager, Contract Management and Strategy Unit in relation to contracts and contract management initiatives.
- Maintain strong internal and external networks whilst building open relationships and robust communication protocols with the contract representatives.
- Coordinate detailed analysis of external provider's performance on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Minimise risk to the Agency by ensuring mechanisms are in place to identify noncompliance and poor performance and that drive rectification / remediation activity.
- Lead the analysis and interpretation of complex matters to prepare high quality correspondence, submissions, reviews and recommendations that add value to the contractual and service delivery requirements.
- Manage and negotiate contract variations in line with changes in the Agency's direction and needs.
- Actively pursue and facilitate effective liaison within the Agency in relation to contract issues that have cross-directorate implications.
- Lead and follow all established contract management frameworks, performance monitoring and reporting regimes.
- Have the ability to identify and manage any presenting probity or conflict of interest issues.
- Assist the Manager Contract Management and Strategy Unit in the delivery of strategic outcomes that support QCS.
- Assist the Manager, Contract Management and Strategy Unit in the provision of executive level advice to the Minister, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners concerning the contracts for external service providers or urgent matters requiring attention or action.
