About The Role
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of First Nations students? As a Student Success Advisor – First Nations (internally known as Koorie Student Support Officer), you'll be the first point of contact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners at Bendigo TAFE, offering guidance, advocacy, and culturally sensitive support throughout their educational journey.
In this dynamic and rewarding role, you'll help students navigate enrolment, access wellbeing and financial support, and connect with internal and external services. You'll work closely with a passionate team—including Koorie counsellors and liaison officers—to ensure every student feels empowered, heard, and supported.
Whether you're coordinating referrals, assisting with academic challenges, or helping organise cultural events, your work will directly contribute to student success and community connection. This hybrid role offers flexibility, professional development opportunities, and the chance to be part of a collaborative and inclusive team.

We Are Excited About You Because You Have
A Certificate III or IV in Community Services, Youth Work, or a related field (essential).At least two years of hands-on experience in case management or student support, where you've made a real difference.Strong communication skills and a natural ability to solve problems with empathy and initiative.The confidence to work independently, while also being a collaborative team player in a regional setting.A deep respect for and connection to the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, and a commitment to culturally safe practices.
