OFFICER - SUPPLY CHAIN AND TRADE (PERMANENT) (JOB NUMBER: ITO001807)

**Department**

Trade Services Operations team is responsible for Traditional Trade & Supply Chain Financing front to end transaction activities within CIB of BNP Paribas group, drives Operational excellence to achieving departmental objectives, and work closely with Transaction Banking Product team in succeeding bank's target goals.

The Guarantee Officer will play a vital role in managing Guarantees/SBLCs issuances, and making sure Guarantees/SBLCs are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.

**Key responsibilities**
- Undertake responsibility for reviewing, drafting, and execution of Demand Guarantees, Ensure potential risks relating to guarantee wordings are either accepted by Legal/Business, or mitigated by revision, making sure all ambiguities and contradictions are addressed.
- Minimize Operational incident by performing stringent control checks on non-standard or unusual issuance requests. Ensure guarantees are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.
- Ensure guarantee commissions are booked accurately and collected within agreed time lines.
- Acknowledge and respond to enquiries from external clients and internal stakeholders promptly while demonstrating higher standards of client service.
- Identify Operational processing improvement opportunities; generate ideas and solutions that can be productive during day-to-day work handlings.

**Qualification**
- Tertiary studies in the Banking / Finance Industry, 5 or more years relevant experience in similar fields
- Proven track records working in an Operational area handling Bank guarantees

**Technical Experience**

Required:

- Demonstrated knowledge of Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG758) & ISP98, and how a guarantee should be structured.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Australian and global banking regulatory and compliance environments
- Experience of controls to manage Operational Risks

Desirable:

- Knowledge of general banking products and basic accounting
- AML / CTF controls

**Other key considerations**:

- Bring Direct contribution to BNPP operational permanent control framework
- Minimize operational failure, including but not exclusively the risk of fraud by helping to devise and by implementing sufficient regular controls
- Ensure appropriate escalation to management and/or permanent control (or compliance as appropriate) as soon as an issue is identified.
- Comply with internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements
- Comply with the BNPP standards of Code of Conduct
- Comply with the BNPP IT Security policies
