The Purchasing Assistant/Expediting Officer is responsible for purchasing/procuring goods and services according to specified quantity, quality and cost requirements, and delivered within given timeframes.

Key activities may include:

- Sourcing product and pricing;
- Prepare Request for Quotation (RFQ's);
- Create and maintain supplier purchase orders in ERP system;
- Reconcile invoices with purchase orders if required;
- Maintain the buying rules, pricing and lead times for all inventory items in ERP system;
- Negotiate appropriate delivery schedules with suppliers in order to ensure optimum inventory levels, lead time whilst maintaining zero shortages;
- Expediting purchase orders ensuring on time delivery;
- Undertake such other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time-to-time by your manager;
- Ensure that any roadblock with the supplier regarding the incident problem solving activity is treated or escalated to manager;
- Improve supplier OTD;
- Support reliable sources of supply for goods and services;
- Any other duties directed by your manager; and
- Commitment to Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements.

Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience with procurement, operations and material management;
- Purchasing certification or equivalent experience;
- Previous experience using an ERP system's; and
- Intermediate Excel.
- Materials control with in project / rail sector; and
- Worked in a team environment / across multiple sites.
