After working hard during rehabilitation and building a passion for advocacy, Malakai began a journey assisting people with disability and their families throughout Queensland. The dictionary definition: A _Support Worker _is responsible for working with people with vulnerability in diverse ways. The types of vulnerability may differ from person to person.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be working with some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Therefore, it is essential to hold or be willing to obtain:

- Disability Worker Screening or current Yellow Card
- Police check
- Current working with children/Blue card exception
- First aid and CPR certificate
- Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety and You"
- COVID-19 Infection Control Training

Not essential but highly regarded:

- Cert III in Individual Support or equivalent
- Manual Handling
