Plants Nursery Delivery Driver

**Position Summary**

The Brite Plants Nursery Delivery Driver, in conjunction with Plants Operations Manager, Nursery Co-ordinator and Nursery Team Leaders, has responsibility for the achievement of delivery goals and meeting deadlines for customer orders. In particular the Brite Plants Nursery Delivery Driver:

- Carry out deliveries under instruction from Plants Operations Manager, Nursery Co-ordinator and Nursery Team Leaders
- Ensures delivery requirements are met at the required level of quality.
- Maintains safety and quality standards.
- Works with supported employees with delivery related tasks.
- Contributes to maintaining quality accreditation.

- General Nursery
- Employee Support
- Accreditation and Quality Management Business development

5. OH&S

**Position Responsibilities**

**Deliveries**
- Conduct deliveries in a timely and professional manner, liaise with customers during deliveries and assist with any enquiries.
- Plans delivery routes to maximise delivery efficiency.
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is ready and completed for deliveries, obtain proof of delivery signatures on relevant paperwork.
- Load orders into vehicles for delivery, checking orders as loading occurs to ensure order is correct and stock quality meets Brites's standards.
- Assist with order picking, weeding and quality checks of stock for customers in line with Brite's quality standards.
- Notify relevant reports of any issues or concerns with orders prior to delivery.
- Complete consignment stock control (stock in and stock out) as required.
- Complete vehicle logbooks, basic maintenance and cleaning of vehicles. Report any major vehicle maintenance issues to nursery manager.

**General Nursery**
- Assist production team with weeding and maintenance of plants when required.
- Assist team with general nursery maintenance tasks.
- Liaise with Nursery Team to meet production requirement for contract grown stock.
- Monitors production processes and where necessary modifies to improve efficiency.
- Assist with ensuring that stock movements are recorded according to Brites's procedures.
- Follows safety policies and procedures and maintains safety standards.
- Monitors and maintains quality standards.
- Trouble shoots and problem solves routine day to day operational matters.
- Maintain an aesthetically pleasing working area.

**Employee Support**
- Ensures work team provides work that meets quality standards.
- Provides encouragement and guidance to work team.
- Delivers on the job training and support to the work team in conjunction with Service Delivery team members.
- Maintains accurate and objective case notes.
- Administers first aid assistance when required (or direct to a qualified First Aider)
- Proactively identifies and addresses barriers to meeting individual employee needs within the workplace.
- Liaises with Service Delivery to address any employee needs or requirements for work related matters.
- Actively upholds, supports, and promotes the right of employees in the workplace.
- Upholds the requirements of the Disability Service Standards and the Disability Act

**Desirable**
- Significant experience in working with people with disabilities, preferably within a disability employment service.
- An awareness and understanding of the core business, and associated management experience.
- Proven understanding of QA and OH&S systems.
- Computer literate and abreast of current technology.
- Demonstrated communication and inter-personal skills.
- Knowledge of risk management in relation to government and statutory legislation.
- Demonstrated skills in implementing performance monitoring and evaluation

**Qualifications and experience**
- Relevant Horticultural experience (evidence of)
- Relevant delivery driving experience (evidence of)

**Working at Brite**

Working at Brite often requires working alongside vulnerable people. Due to the nature of our work, we require all team members to complete an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Working with Children Check.

**Additional requirements**
- Ability to perform physical tasks.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- **Current Medium Rigid Drivers Licence or ability to obtain one prior to start.
