Job Description

The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person, right here in Hunter.
From sport to art, pets to gardening, walking to yoga, baking to craft, movies to music, coffee to crosswords... whatever you love, you can share it with someone who loves it too.
As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in your community.
Do you enjoy reading true crime, biography, and history books or have an interest in sewing? We're looking for a friendly person who can spare an hour or two a week or a fortnight to visit or go on an outing with an older lady in Warabrook. Our client loves a chat and would love some company.
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the clients you are matched with.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare.
HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
Requirements
18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
