Explore more on Cubic.com.Job Details:Job Summary: This position will be responsible for identifying hardware & software defects and inconsistencies in functionality against defined performance measures and to progress and verify that the system meets and conforms to the System / SubSystem requirements and solution design documents.
This position typically works under limited supervision and direction.
Incumbents of this position will exercise discretionary decision-making authority.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develop test procedures aligned to system and subsystem requirementsDevelop test cases and scenarios to perform functional and non-functional (performance, capacity, stress, load, and stability) testingConduct dry run of test scripts and formal testing to verify system stability and functionality prior to formal Systems Acceptance Testing (SAT) and customer witnessingConduct regression testing to ensure system has not regressed after software updates and changes have been made to the systemWork independently on projectsLead a program of work, working closely with Senior Engineers and Project ManagersBe the Test SME for a particular project/domain and the go-to for test expertiseDefect Tracking and resolutionDevelop Test Plans (Both Functional and non-Functional)Prepare and issue system test reportsAssist with system integration activitiesAssist in maintaining configuration control in the test environmentsWork closely with business architects, system developers and engineering staff with regard to development of test deliverables, system functionality and issuesAssist the Test Group with estimation for new projectsAssist Cubic with estimation for new bidsGeneral Duties and Responsibilities:Comply with Cubic's Quality Management SystemComply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and proceduresComply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures of the organisationsComply with Cubic Human Resources ProceduresOther duties as requestedMinimum Job Requirements:QualificationsEssential:Bachelor degree or equivalent, preferably in Science or EngineeringDesirable:ISTQB Foundation CertificationSkills/Experience/KnowledgeEssential:Minimum of 5 years experience within a systems test, software testing and processes environment in large projects.Experienced in writing of SQL queries and oracle databasesExperience in using test management tools to develop, write and editing of test cases and test scripts.Experienced in using Microsoft OfficeExcellent Communication, Documentation and Record Keeping skills a mustDesirable:Experience within the transportation sector, Automated Fare Collection Systems, or financial sectorExperience with ticketing systems and/or public transportation operationExperience with Test Automation frameworks and/or Java programmingExperience in Test Management toolsPersonal QualitiesSelf motivated.Attention to Detail a mustDiligent and pragmaticAbility to work using own initiative and under pressureAbility to communicate at all levelsConfident, professional effective communicatorStrong customer focusTeam playerExcellent stakeholder management skillsHave the flexibility to travel when requiredCondition of Employment:Successful outcome of a National Police CheckThe description provided above is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties, responsibilities and requirements.
