Overview

Senior Systems Test Engineer role at Cubic Defense.

Company: Cubic Transportation Systems / Cubic Defense. This position focuses on identifying hardware and software defects and ensuring systems meet defined performance measures and requirements. Work is performed under limited supervision with discretionary decision-making authority.

Job Details

This position will be responsible for identifying hardware & software defects and inconsistencies in functionality against defined performance measures and to progress and verify that the system meets and conforms to the System / SubSystem requirements and solution design documents.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Develop test procedures aligned to system and subsystem requirements
  • Develop test cases and scenarios to perform functional and non-functional testing (performance, capacity, stress, load, and stability)
  • Conduct dry runs of test scripts and formal testing to verify system stability and functionality prior to formal Systems Acceptance Testing (SAT) and customer witnessing
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure no regression after software updates
  • Work independently on projects
  • Lead a program of work, collaborating with Senior Engineers and Project Managers
  • Serve as Test SME for a project/domain and provide test expertise
  • Defect tracking and resolution
  • Develop Test Plans (Functional and non-Functional)
  • Prepare and issue system test reports
  • Assist with system integration activities
  • Assist in maintaining configuration control in the test environments
  • Collaborate with business architects, system developers and engineering staff on test deliverables, system functionality and issues
  • Assist the Test Group with estimation for new projects
  • Assist Cubic with estimation for new bids

  • Comply with Cubic's Quality Management System
  • Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
  • Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures
  • Other duties as requested
Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent, preferably in Science or Engineering

Desirable:

  • ISTQB Foundation Certification

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience within a systems test, software testing and processes environment in large projects.
  • Experience in writing SQL queries and working with Oracle databases
  • Experience in using test management tools to develop, write and edit test cases and test scripts
  • Experience in using Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, documentation and record-keeping skills

Desirable:

  • Experience within the transportation sector, Automated Fare Collection Systems, or financial sector
  • Experience with ticketing systems and/or public transportation operation
  • Experience with Test Automation frameworks and/or Java programming
  • Experience in Test Management tools
