The Garvan Research Foundation was founded in 1981 and is the fundraising and marketing arm of the Institute, raising awareness and vital funds from individuals, trusts and foundations and corporate and community groups.
The Foundation's income has grown from a fundraising base of $110,000 in its first year to more than $48 million in 2021 - approximately half of the Institute's total income. The remarkable success of the Foundation's activities is having a catalytic impact on our researchers' ability to make scientific contributions that will ultimately lead to earlier diagnosis, better treatments and ultimately prevention or cure of a range of diseases.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Marketing and Communications team is a service provider to the entire Institute. We provide crucial support for teams within the Foundation to achieve their donor acquisition, engagement, retention and conversion targets. We support researchers and the executive with their marketing and communications needs, and are at the forefront of building the Garvan brand and public profile.
Sitting within the Marketing function and reporting to the Content Marketing Officer, the Digital Content Producer is a diverse and dynamic role, responsible for generating and producing high-quality content for the Institute's internal and external channels.
**Salary**: Up to $75,000 pa + 10.5% Super + Salary Packaging
Employment Type: Full Time Permanent

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The role will be key for creating and optimising content for multiple channels, including print, website, digital screens and social media.
The key responsibilities include:
- Source/create a range of engaging content, including but not limited to images, graphics, video and text, for the Institute's social media channels- Source/create/collate content for the Institute's internal digital channels, such as EDMs and digital screens- Assist with reporting for digital and social media channels- Assist with social media monitoring and promoting engagement across Garvan's social channels- Build and maintain responsive and productive stakeholder relationships
ABOUT YOU- The key skills and experience include:
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism, publishing, communications, or similar.- Experience working with digital and social media platforms.- Ability to work quickly to produce content in short timeframes, deliver to strict deadlines and to manage multiple tasks.- Experience filming and video editing- Experience in writing for websites and social media- Experience in basic editing of images to optimise for different channels- Experience with digital editing and creation programs and social media platforms.- Excellent attention to detail.- Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects on tight deadlines.- Ability to be a flexible team player while also being able to work independently.- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.- Professional interpersonal skills and presentation.- Innovative, creative and lateral thinking with an ability to solve problems.- Experience in non-profit organisations would be advantageous.
