SEE Australia is looking for a motivated and experienced EHS Specialist to ensure a high standard of Environment and Safety performance across the divisions, overall operations, and products to safeguard our employees, assets, and customers.
This role will manages the EAT function, implement and ensure compliance with company policies, specifically pertaining to safety, like: ISO 45001, Workcover and other relevant legislative and accreditation requirements.
This role is vital in order to carry out continuous improvement activities, and providing direction, support, and training to employees and also drive safety performance and improvement strategies / actions to achieve continuous improvement in plant and safety performance. Why we need you?
Absolute commitment to the highest safety standards in the workplace to promote and support EHS in workplace activities, operations, communications, policies, procedures, or standards as appropriate.
Proven experience (over 5 year of working experience) within a comparable industry, or similar role that will help to champion company EHS policies, guidelines, and procedures to conform with ISO 45001.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing / operations leadership role in order to ensure team members are well versed and trained in all EHS requirements.
Possess a high standard of communication and problem-solving skills that will set standards for and set SOP's - ensure operational procedures include all necessary safety precautions and that personnel are competent and comply with all procedures.
Comfort in motivating others and create change and compliance in all layers of the organization to provide guidance and direction in EHS programs at all levels to ensure a common and effective approach.
Strong Customer focus and ability to present in sales / customer environment on topics of safety, wellbeing, environment and OHS guidelines.
Ability to create compliance within both owned manufacturing plants and contract manufacturers.
Be willing to undertake "on the job" training program in order to ensure adequate levels of training are maintained for existing and new employees, including first aid, fire warden, emergency evacuation, forklift and hygiene.
Able to complete reasonable overtime in line with manufacturing commitments.
Demonstrated ability to write reports, policies and procedures as well as being proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software for the development of the above.
Environmental Health and Safety or related qualification
Exposure to leading continuous improvement methodologies in lean/engineering. e.g., Six Sigma, TPS, etc. (preferred)
