**Project Overview**:
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customer in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.

Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.

**Job Summary**:
As Purchasing Professional, you will perform tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders, including bidder prequalification, bidder lists, bid solicitation, bid analysis, negotiation and commitment of purchase orders. You will perform administration of purchase orders following commitments involving high monetary expenditure or risk, engineered technical specifications, or supplementary commercial conditions.
- This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and requires at least four days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership._

**Major Responsibilities**:

- By reviewing the prime contract requirements, oversees the development and preparation of project master purchases pro-forma forms, including legal and commercial terms and conditions to be included in purchase documents on project commitments
- Reviews and develops other commercial and technical data prepared by Engineering, Construction, Finance, Logistics, Insurance, Tax and other procurement functional groups and inputs suitable terminology into pro-forma documents
- Prepares, maintains, and monitors project bidder's lists, ensuring input is received from all procurement functions and other operational groups
- Communicates with Engineering to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions
- Reviews international project commercial conditions of purchasing to ensure purchasing pro-forma terms, conditions and procedures are compatible with applicable Bechtel Directives, Instructions and Procurement Procedures
- Forms, issues, and administers purchase orders
- Directs negotiations in the commitment of purchases, following review and approval of the proposed negotiating plan by the designated supervisor
- Communicates with suppliers to achieve required service and meets project needs
- Prepares and organizes assigned Procurement sponsored meetings
- Provides training and guidance to other purchasing personnel regarding all aspects of formation and administration of purchasing forms, procedures, and buying goods
- Assists project Procurement team when instructed in solving and attending to administrative problems on commitments involving high monetary expenditure or risk, engineered technical specifications or supplemental commercial conditions
- Monitors billing for compliance

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Extensive experience in purchasing wide range of engineered equipment and materials
- Experience working with suppliers nationally and internationally
- Demonstrated skills in working and communicating effectively with all levels of project functional groups
- Extensive experience in negotiating terms and conditions.
