The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and engaging screen industry professional to lead the successful operations of our Production Attraction & Industry Development services, playing an integral role in supporting the promotion of local production in WA.
As the Production Attraction & Industry Development Executive, you will provide strategic support to the Head of Industry Development to achieve long-term outcomes and objectives. You'll manage the day-to-day operations of our Production Attraction & Industry Development team, including supporting funds, location services, and film friendly schemes and activities.
You'll provide timely advice and support to stakeholders on production practices in WA, acting as an advocate for the local industry. You\'ll also oversee the targeted growth and development of the Below the Line (BTL) sector, as well as manage a small, close-knit team.
This is a 12-month contract role (full-time), based in our Perth CBD office.
You'll be responsible for
Providing professional advice to industry practitioners and production companies regarding filming in WA.
Working collaboratively with Perth Film Studios to facilitate production into Western Australia.
Managing and administering production incentives and funding programs.
Overseeing the administration of the Workforce Capacity Development Funds including the BTL Crew Capacity Program.
Proactively identifying opportunities to promote WA's locations, screen businesses, infrastructure, and film friendly protocols to secure productions for WA.
Working collaboratively with WA State Government to deliver the WA State Screen Strategy and enable a Film Friendly WA.
Facilitating location recces for potential incoming productions.
Representing Screenwest at relevant industry functions and meetings and foster and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the Production Attraction & Industry Development team.
The right person will be able to demonstrate / have experience with
Significant experience in film and television production with a strong understanding of film and television production logistics and budgets.
Highly developed organisational skills including demonstrated experience in managing actions to deadlines.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and customers.
Local production knowledge.
Ability to lead and mentor a small team, fostering a productive and collaborative environment.
