At Egis, we prioritise our people, and to enhance our Water capabilities, we are looking to recruit a skilled Water Senior Quantity Surveyor to operate as part of the Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line.This period marks an exhilarating time to join Egis's new Project, Programme, PMO and Commercial Management Capability ("P3M CM") UK, Ireland and Europe team, which is undergoing a transformative phase.
The P3M CM Function at Egis is deeply committed to boosting strategic operations and overall efficacy by:Developing a premier capability and team;Proactively engaging with markets and suppliers;Streamlining and enhancing operational workflows;Achieving results through strong commercial policies;Amidst the challenges of managing the extensive infrastructure needs of Europe, these dynamic transformations offer numerous opportunities to contribute significantly to Egis's establishment as a leader in the infrastructure sector.About the RoleReporting to the Water Cost and Commercial Lead for the UK, your role as Senior Quantity Surveyor will involve delivering work with water companies or the Environment Agency in the Midlands area predominantly, with the opportunity to work in the North West of England in consultancy roles.
However, there will be an opportunity for progression between the UK water, environment, and nuclear sectors.As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have knowledge and experience in pre- and post-contract management in NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC and procurement within the UK water, environment, and nuclear sectors.
The senior quantity surveyor will be expected to utilise their major project experience and knowledge to drive efficiencies and effective supply chain engagement and contract management.As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will have experience working with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and/ or Early Subcontractor Involvement (ESI) in design and build major capital programmes.We will fully support your personal growth and development, enabling you to access full RICS training courses, a path to chartership, or help you develop your career to the level you want.
We are true believers in personal development and will support you every step of the way.You must have the right to work in the UKThis role is subject to a client interview and acceptanceIf you live in the Midlands area and you have the skill set please reach out for a discussionKey Responsibilities:GeneralNEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC Contract management and administration client sideBudget controlPayment valuation and assisting the PM in payment certificationActual cost forecasting and Defined Cost determinationEstablishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholdersEnsure appropriate commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and oversee any contractual issuesPre-ContractFeasibility studies and cost planningPreparation of tender documentationEvaluation of tendersRisk managementPost-ContractManagement and administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contract termsCost control and valuationEvaluation and negotiation of change orders or variationsClaims and dispute resolutionFinal accounts and post-project evaluationWhat do we need from youBachelor's or Master's Degree qualification in Quantity SurveyingFull Membership of chartered body such RICS or a substantively progressed route on an approved APC pathway.A wealth ofexperience postgraduate in Rail, Nuclear, Water and/ or Environment.Line Management and recruitment experience of Quantity Surveyors or Assistant Quantity Surveyors.CDM regulation knowledge and experience.Risk management experienceValid CSCS card, with Water Hygiene Card desirable.Main contractor and/or joint venture experience working client sideSite presence and co-location minimum 3 days a weekAn experienced user of the NEC3-4 suite of contracts (A-C-E must have)What's in it for you?
