**About the Opportunity**:
Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity to work in the Histopathology Department at Bowen Hills.

The aim of this role is in the preparation of tissue prior to the microscopic examination by histopathologists. Duties will include embedding, microtomy and general laboratory procedures involved in the preparation of histological slides. Applicants with previous experience in these or with experience in dissection or immunohistochemistry are encouraged to apply.

Core duties:

- Dissection: cut up and prepare non-complex specimens
- Main laboratory: embed and perform microtomy of specimens
- Immunohistochemistry: prepare slides for staining on automated stainers, QC slides, perform special stains

To qualify, you will possess a **degree in Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or another relevant qualification.**

The laboratory operates 24 hours and is therefore seeking flexible and enthusiastic individuals. Please note, the organisation is committed to ensuring a healthy work/life balance for all staff.
