Garvan is implementing a new strategic plan "Garvan 2030: Discoveries to Impact" and Garvan's Commercial Development and Innovation (CDI) team is central to delivering Garvan's vision of
_global leadership in discoveries to impact_.

THE OPPORTUNITY- preliminary assessment for commercial potential of Garvan IP disclosures- preparation of detailed market, competitive, economic and technical analyses for those disclosures, and- supporting CDI's business development activities.

**Salary**: Up to $105,000 plus Super (10.5%) plus Salary Packaging

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The key responsibilities include:
- Assist in the preparation and assessment of Garvan IP disclosures using a defined analytical framework- Coordinate related commercial intelligence gathering activities for the purpose of determining market opportunity, competitor landscape, health economic data and product-market fit for selected Garvan IP disclosures- Play a supporting role in identifying, initiating and progressing discussions with industry partners on key Garvan innovations- Work closely with Garvan legal team to identify and make recommendations for consideration on key legal agreement clauses in relation to Garvan IP and commercialisation- Assist in CDI activities that promote awareness of research translation, commercialisation and real impact within the Garvan, including the preparation of educational material and assisting in the running of events- Other duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU

The key skills and experience include:
- At least a Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline relevant to Garvan's strategic programs-
- High level of analytical ability- Computer research-savvy especially within complex datasets, e.g. Global Data- Minimum three years scientific research experience- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Ability to think strategically and creatively about opportunities for the commercial development of research IP and ideas- Proven team player.

Highly desired:
- Working knowledge of intellectual property protection- Experience in identifying and commercialising IP in an industry and/or academic environment, and- Experience in business related field(s), especially as it relates to entrepreneurship and technology transfer/translation.
