**Role Description/Criteria**

We are seeking a leader who has:

- A commitment to the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children
- Knowledge, passion and expertise in the areas of curriculum and pedagogy and Inquiry learning
- The ability to improve student outcomes and enhance teacher practice
- Undertaken further study in Leadership
- A willingness to mentor an assistant leader and student leaders

**ROLE DESCRIPTION**

The Teaching & Learning Leader is a member of the Core Leadership team with the principal and deputy principal; the faith leadership team; PBL team and Child Safety team. The main areas of responsibility include:

- Attending relevant professional learning and leading professional learning for our staff in consultation with the Deputy Principal
- Sharing the responsibility for daily organising with the Deputy Principal
- Working with school leaders and external experts (including the Apple Education team) to develop the effective use of digital technologies for students and staff
- Working with the Apple Distinguished Educator to facilitate planning for Challenge/Problem Based Learning
- Facilitating Inquiry planning with teachers and resourcing the Inquiry program
- Modelling, observing teacher practice and giving feedback
- Working with the resource management staff of the school to ensure ICT equipment is maintained, up to date & used effectively
- Supporting the Deputy Principal and teachers with assessment and reporting procedures
- Assisting and supporting in the mentoring of beginning teachers, student teachers and work experience students
- Monitoring progress of all students and supporting teachers to enable and extend their learning
- Promoting Inquiry learning to the school community
- Overseeing Home Learning procedures
