Add expected salary to your profile for insightsWe are seeking a visionary Senior Director of AI & Engineering to lead the consolidation of Data and AI into a single, scalable capability.
This critical leadership role will set the foundations of AI, driving the implementation of core AI technologies and ensuring the right guardrails are in place to educate, guide, and empower teams across the organisation.You will provide clarity to an existing AI roadmap, managing a core team of 20 people and influencing and guiding 500–600 talented professionals within the wider organisation.
As a strategic and technical leader, you'll shape how this organisation leverages AI, data, and engineering to deliver on their ambition of becoming one of Australia's most loved everyday brands with lasting customer relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and implement the AI technology foundations and drive the core AI capability.Consolidate AI and Data functions into one unified capability to enable scale.Provide leadership and clarity around the AI roadmap, aligning to business priorities and future opportunities.Establish education frameworks and guardrails to drive safe, ethical, and responsible AI adoption across the business.Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers and data specialists.Oversee financials, budgets, talent strategies, and roadmaps to ensure delivery at scale.Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure AI initiatives are aligned to enterprise strategy.Champion the adoption of cloud, data, and AI technologies including AWS, Azure, Databricks, GitHub, and others.About YouA proven track record as a senior technology leader with deep expertise in AI, data, and engineering.Strong understanding of AI technologies, platforms, and responsible AI practices.Experience consolidating and scaling AI and data capabilities in large, complex organisations.Exceptional leadership skills, able to influence at scale and inspire large engineering organisations.Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, roadmaps, and talent development.Expertise in modern cloud and data platforms: AWS, Azure, Databricks, GitHub.A strategic thinker who can bring clarity, direction, and energy to a rapidly evolving technology landscape.Unlock job insightsSalary match Number of applicants Skills matchTo help fast track investigation, please include here any other relevant details that prompted you to report this job ad as fraudulent / misleading / discriminatory.Researching careers?
