Reporting to the Depot Manager, the position includes the following responsibilities:

- Safely drive locomotives on assigned routes, ensuring compliance with all railway signals, traffic regulations, and operational procedures.
- Ensuring safe & efficient shunting activities
- Inspect the locomotive and equipment before departure, ensuring that everything is in good working order.
- Perform assigned duties in accordance with SCT Rail's policies and work instructions.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of train movements and operational data.
- Commitment to safety in the workplace
- Ensure compliance with all of SCT's OHS policies, procedures and applicable state and federal legislation
- A strong customer focus orientation
- Be able to work in a team environment and in some cases unsupervised

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- Certificate IV in Train Driving
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Current Track Access Permit (TAP)
- Valid Driver's License
- A strong commitment to safety.
- Be reasonably fit and agile to meet the demands of the job.
