**About the Assignment**

The role will have oversight of, and support for, various planning-related initiatives across the portfolio as well as providing direct Planning support to the Brownfield Projects Project Manager who manages a portfolio of projects including refinery return to service, security hardening and some abandonment works.

Key responsibilities will include:
**Oversight of portfolio-level activities**:

- Develop, coordinate, and maintain portfolio performance reports;
- Transparent and consistent reporting and tracking of plan performance against targets to enhance decision making, opportunity identification, prioritisation and look-back analysis;
- Coordinate with the Lead Functional Planner for Santos to ensure that the PNG BU is implementing the required Planning practices and processes;
- Provide appropriate leadership and guidance to project planners, including mentoring and training of trainee/early career Planners;
- Assist with Identify planning and scheduling skills gaps and recommend suitable training courses; and,
- Provide review and assessment of plans received from Operator(s) of Non-Operated Major Capital.

**Planning for Brownfield Projects**:

- Develop and manage overall master project schedule(s), coordinating and incorporating Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Owner's team, and contractor data (as required / appropriate);
- Maintain project schedule versions (e.g. baseline, control budget, concept alternatives) to enable management of change and comparison between reporting periods;
- Lead regular interactive, cross-functional planning sessions to ensure that the schedule is fully integrated and appropriately reviewed / challenged by all stakeholders;
- Proactively identify, analyse, and advise project management team regarding schedule risks (i.e. clashes, changes in critical path) ensuring these are appropriately reflected;
- Evaluate impacts through sensitivity analysis to identify optimum / alternative project strategies to resolve problems / issues;
- Implement regular schedule reporting regarding performance versus plan (incl. deviations);
- Own and develop schedule documentation, i.e. schedule development basis, schedule management plan, master project schedule;
- Review and steward contractors' planning and scheduling performance in compliance with contract requirements; and,
- Support project management team with schedule communication presentation to business leadership.

**Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Ensure compliance with project planning and scheduling policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as industry best practice where appropriate;
- Support any third-party analysis and benchmarking activities;
- Evaluate resource allocation and provide recommendations to maintain required progress; and,
- Support cost controllers in expenditure and value of work forecasting.

**About You**

To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:

- Expert in Oracle Primavera P6 - essential
- Competent in SAP, Microsoft Excel and planning tools
- Relevant planning / project controls / management-related certifications
- Experience in EPC delivered up-stream oil and gas industry;
- Demonstrated experience planning multiple projects and capital works activities within a brownfield operational environment
- Experience across all phases of a project within the upstream oil and gas industry i.e., from front-end / pre-FEED project phases through to executio
- Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing

**Mandatory Tickets / Quals / Certs**
- Tertiary qualified in engineering, project management or other relevant upstream oil and gas qualification
