Work in an environment that offers: Support for career progression and development An opportunity to work with a leading regional health service Excellent clinical exposure across a range of specialties The Position Job Reference: 2966 Position Title: Aboriginal Mental Health TraineeClassification: SP40Salary per fortnight (exc. super): $2,445.60Hours per fortnight: 80 hours (includes an ADO every 4 weeks) Employment Status: Full Time Fixed Term 3-year program Closing date: 07/10/2025 The Aboriginal Mental Health trainee position offers the opportunity to study for a degree in Mental Health while being employed to study and gain supervised work experience.
There is no prerequisite for entry into the course and a tutor is available to support the study component.
The trainee will work within multidisciplinary teams on rotations within inpatient, residential and community teams of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Service.
The trainee will be supported to complete a Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) degree at Charles Sturt University via distance education including two week-long residential intensives per annum.
On completion of the program, trainees will be eligible to become mental health professionals of the health service's multidisciplinary mental health teams.
