**Medical Oncology Fellow - Icon Cancer Care Adelaide**
A significant opportunity has been created for someone who has completed their RACP training in Medical Oncology and is ready to develop advanced skills through private practice patient care and research and clinical trials involvement. The role will operate under the supervision of our Clinical Research Director and senior consultants
This is a rare chance to be mentored by an extensively published international research collaborative to develop your research and academic career, including assistance with manuscript writing, whilst progressing your clinical skill development in your specialty.
The specific opportunity exists in Adelaide to provide experience and learning in the planning, implementation and conduct of clinical trials including first in human trials. This would be supported by senior experienced clinicians and provides the opportunity for developing a career pathway combining clinical trial participation and high quality private practice.
Core shifts are Monday to Friday with the reasonable expectation of some weekend coverage throughout the year, working as a consultant medical oncologist. We are negotiable on FTE to your preference, between 0.6 and 1.0 FTE. On a 12 Month fellowship program, a minimum of 20% of your time will be solely dedicated to research, with remaining portions allocated to direct patient care.
The role has equally significant expectations of your clinical competency and compassionate approach. You'll be supported to deliver best practice assessment, evaluation, and advice according to professional standards. In doing so, we're seeking a caring professional who can act as an advocate to assist patients to make informed decisions, showing a level of empathy, respect and inclusion that aligns closely with Icon's values.
We'll be looking for your completion of RACP training i.e. current or pending FRACP qualification, and eligibility for AHPRA registration as a medical oncologist / consultant physician.
