Sydney CBD – Hybrid flexibilitymonth non-ongoing contract4% SuperannuationOur Federal Government Client is an independent agency that promotes efficiency and increased transparency in the delivery and funding of public health and aged care services across Australia.The Costing Analytics Section is to provide analytical support on the analysis of cost related activities in both hospital and aged care.
The Costing Analytics section also works in collaboration with other teams within the Agency to develop innovative methods for the analysis of cost data for public hospital services, evidence driven national health policies, alternative health care funding models, aged care services and classification systems.The Role :This position is located within the Costing and Data Infrastructure branch.
The Branch has responsibilities including cost collections, developing costing standards and data specifications, and managing data acquisition, access and storage.The EL2 Director Costing Analytics leads a team responsible for the technical advice and analysis of components of the aged care and hospital costing data sets used for aged care and hospital funding.
It also provides support for analytics and development of pricing approach across the agency.Responsibilities will include but are not limited to :leading and managing the Costing Analytics sectionmanaging the annual cycle of work to deliver cost advice for hospital, and aged care, including the residential and support at home programscoordinating preparation of position and briefing papers around the calculation and results of costing models, including coordinating and providing expert advice to stakeholders in relation to funding models for aged care and hospital servicesrepresenting the Agency on a range of national committees, working groups and conferences and liaising with Australian governments and national stakeholders regarding pricing advice; and supporting the agency in the development, testing, and analysis associated with new or modified pricing approaches in health or aged careKey capabilities include the following :demonstrated understanding of the role of costing within the Agency and ABF in general.demonstrated strategic and program management skills including the development, interpretation and application of government policies and processes in a complex environment.Demonstrated experience in developing clear and efficient code preferably using SAS, SQL or python to understand and analyse data.demonstrated understanding of costing models, specifically related to pricing methods in both hospital and aged caredemonstrated people and leadership skills including the ability to articulate functional objectives and operational priorities, including the capacity to build workforce capability to achieve the section's objectives.highly developed strategic thinking including vision, perception and evaluation skills, and the ability to assess organisational impacts, governance, compliance, risks and benefits; andhighly developed stakeholder management and communication skills, including liaison and negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate complex and sensitive issues successfully to various steering committees, working groups, management and staff.Demonstrated experience in developing clear and efficient code preferably usingSAS, SQL or python to understand and analyse dataDemonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information that isappropriate for a range of audiencesStrong technical and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.Experience in mathematical or statistical analysis and model development.Highly DesirableA working knowledge of a health-related field, accounting, finance, or project management and experience in data analysis, trend reporting would be highly desirable.Knowledge or previous experience working with activity-based costing or hospital costing, and data collection.Experience in mathematics, statistics, econometric, or actuarial sciences, including data analysis and pricing model development is highly desirable.
