Management Cost Accountant - VPS5
Location: Melbourne CBD - Hybrid
Contract: 4 months
Hourly Rate: $71 - $86 per hour + super

Randstad is proud to partner with a Victorian State Government department to recruit an experienced Management Cost Accountant to support financial planning and investment analysis across IMT (Information Management & Technology) services.
This is a specialist VPS5 opportunity with a strong focus on cost modelling, financial forecasting, and supporting business case development for key projects and services.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and validate detailed cost estimates for IMT services, including resources, software licences, and managed service providers.
Lead the development of financial models to support new capabilities, emerging projects, and service catalogue initiatives.
Deliver financial insights to support Directors in identifying cost efficiencies and productivity improvements.
Support business case development with ROI and cost-benefit analysis.
Monitor budgets, forecast expenditures, and report on cost variances.
Collaborate with Finance and IMT teams to align financial planning with operational service delivery.
Contribute to cross-branch initiatives with a focus on cost optimisation and improved resource allocation.
About You
Proven experience in cost modelling, financial forecasting, and business case support.
Strong understanding of IMT services and investment analysis in a government context.
Demonstrated ability to partner with operational and project stakeholders.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
CPA/CA qualification is desirable.
Previous experience in a Victorian Government department or statutory authority is highly regardedmand preferred.
