**The Role**:
Are you a passionate communications specialist, with expertise in events, procurement, and stakeholder management?

Seeking an experienced Communications Adviser, events to hold responsibility for planning and delivering high profile and high-quality ministerial events.

The role sits within a high-performing team, who work in a dynamic environment with many last-minute event changes and tight timelines. You will be resilient, flexible and adaptable to change.

The role also actively participates in a broad range of communication tasks, events and activities to support the delivery of the Division's work. Some ad hoc after-hours work may be required.

**VPS4 Equivalent | Contract to July 27 | Immediate start**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Coordinating ministerial event briefings from beginning to end, including sourcing of all information, and engaging with multiple stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality events
- Producing high quality event documentation, including event briefings, logístical information and run sheets, in line with agreed event processes and templates
- Drafting speeches and speaking points for members of government
- Providing advice to the VSBA's Executives, Minister's Office and other internal teams on event opportunities, risks and issues management
- Initiate and maintain effective and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate information for briefs
- Collaborate with events colleagues to ensure consistency in event quality and delivery
- Event advancing support at schools and early childhood facilities to ensure seamless implementation, including event photography.
- Providing other communications and advice as needed, including supporting or assisting with other stakeholder event and work across the Communications branch

**About You**:

- Knowledge of communications and events theory and practice
- Understanding of strategic communication activities and their role in the public and/or education sector
- Ensures project objectives are met by anticipating and managing potential and emerging issues
- Confidently conveys ideas and information in a clear and interesting way
- Sees things from others' points of view and confirms understanding
- Understands and meets the needs of target audiences (i.e. the right information to the right people)
- Essential : Current Drivers Licence
- Desirable : Relevant tertiary qualification Communications
