Quarry Operator

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional Leading Hand Quarry Operator to join our experienced Byford Quarry hard rock mining & processing team. Situated 38km south of Perth City, 28km East of Rockingham & 36km Northeast of Mandurah, Byford Quarry is an established hard rock quarry with significant long-term reserves ideally located to service the growing southern Perth metro market.

As a part of the Hanson group, we are one of Australia's leading suppliers of heavy building materials. Our quarry operations incorporate drill & blast, load & haul along with fixed plant crushing and screening processes to supply quality aggregate products into the local building & construction markets. We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Leading Hand Quarry Operator. In this position you will be involved all aspects of hard rock mining and fixed plant crushing and screening operations with a strong emphasis placed on safety and efficiency optimisation.

**In your new role, you will**:

- Undertake daily site inspections equipment - training & ongoing support provided
- Participate in daily production & maintenance meetings
- Work with site supervision and maintenance to ensure production targets are met
- Operate mobile plant including mobile crane, loader, watercart, dump truck, service cart & excavator depending on previous experience - training & development programs will be provided depending on applicant experience & business requirements
- Learn & operate fixed plant process control systems
- Perform fixed and mobile plant maintenance, inspections and minor repairs as required
- Utilise as develop your planning and organisational skills to ensure the smooth day to day running of the site in conjunction with the site supervision and maintenance team

**This role is a great fit for you if you**:

- Have previous experience in open pit mining or quarrying

- Have previous exposure to fixed or mobile crushing plant
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- Are able work independently & as part of an established team
- Have previous mobile equipment exposure
- Hold safety in the highest regard
- A reasonable level of health and fitness
