We are seeking an asphalt field technician to carry out coring of asphalt, sand patch testing and straight edge testing, plus aggregate sampling from quarries when needed.
This role would be suitable for an experienced technician in the asphalt industry or someone in the concrete/geotechnical testing field looking to try something different.
The team are also willing to train candidates that are new to the industry if you are keen and willing to learn.In Your New Role, You WillCarry out a wide range of testing for construction materials such as asphalt and aggregatesUndertake testing results analysis and interpretationCarry out equipment calibrationsSetting up and maintaining of equipmentAssist the technical teamThis role is a great fit for you, if you have:Proven success in a technical or laboratory environmentAbility to work flexible hours including night shift and weekends as requiredAbility to work under pressure and problem solveCertificate IV in Laboratory Techniques preferred, but not essentialHave knowledge of laboratory set up & calibration requirements preferred, but not essential2 years' experience in Construction Materials Testing or similar field preferred, but not essentialExcellent Health and Safety behavioursStrong literacy and numeracy skills (written & verbal) with excellent attention to detailA valid driver's licenseAn ability to take ownership and manage your own area of responsibility without close supervisionWhat We OfferYou will be rewarded with a competitive and attractive hourly rateCompany provided uniform and PPEOngoing career and development opportunitiesSuncoast Asphalt is proud of our culturally diverse and inclusive workforce.
