- Salary package: from $122,529 per annum including base salary of $104,726 to $113,545 (HEW Level 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation contribution and annual leave loading

THE ROLE

In this newly created role, you will provide IT BAU support for the School of Computing's teaching laboratories spanning gaming, cyber security, networking and Project/BYOD in addition to the general computer teaching laboratories.

The Technology Specialist will work to ensure the facilities hardware and software, remains functional and maintained, up-to-date and secure in order to maximise effectiveness of the laboratories in support of teaching requirements.

The Technology Specialist will be responsible for the installation and configuration of all hardware related to practical teaching. Additionally, the role will be responsible for troubleshooting day-to-day issues and providing timely and effective solutions.- Provide generalist IT support for the School of Computing technology systems, and infrastructure related to teaching delivery and take responsibility for aspects of requirements gathering, design, test, installation, monitoring, tuning, and maintenance of associated technology systems and infrastructure- Contribute to the development of the teaching schedule across the suite of laboratories and prepare and maintain the hardware, software, and infrastructure related to practical teaching delivery- Provide advice to stakeholders in identification of technology risks and opportunities to continually improve efficiency and effectiveness of teaching- Contribute to the evaluation of relevant new technology solutions and their applicability to the School of Computing teaching laboratories- In consultation with relevant stakeholders, execute the design, implementation, and operation of IT services, technology systems, and infrastructure related to teaching delivery- Develop and execute strategies to maintain the high availability and supportability of the computing labs, in collaboration with teaching staff and IT

About You

You are an experienced IT professional with a broad base of generalist knowledge and experience who has actively established and maintained IT systems and infrastructure in complex organisation.

You will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You have expertise in ensuring operations follow best practice and are comfortable navigating through complexity to deliver organisational requirements and implement improvements. You will be recognised for your ability to build strong relationships, bringing people together to collectively resolve roadblocks and for your commitment to quality outcomes.

Essential Criteria- Relevant qualifications and extensive experience providing generalist and high-quality IT support to an organisational unit or equivalent (experience in a teaching environment will be highly regarded)- Extensive knowledge and experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of software, hardware and technologies- Demonstrated expertise in business needs analysis, identifying alternative solutions, assessing risk and feasibility, and recommending new approaches.- Advanced collaboration skills and the demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and bring stakeholders together to collectively resolve roadblocks and deliver organisational priorities- Proven ability to exercise initiative and autonomous judgement along with the ability to analyse and interpret requirements and information from numerous sources- Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing, including the ability to articulate and explain complex technical concepts or information effectively- A considered, logical, analytical, and creative approach to problem-solving
