We are seeking a talented Data Journalist to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of providing insightful and impactful news coverage.As a Data Journalist, you will play a crucial role in transforming complex data sets into compelling narratives and visually engaging infographics.
Your work will help our readers understand and interpret data-driven stories, enhancing their overall news experience.You will collaborate with reporters, editors, and designers to create innovative and informative content that resonates with our audience.This role can be based in any of our head offices nationwideYour Day To DayAnalyse and interpret large data sets to identify newsworthy stories and trends.Develop and produce data-driven stories that are accurate, engaging, and informative.Create visually appealing infographics and data visualisations using tools such as Flourish and Infogram.Collaborate with editorial and design teams to integrate data visualisations into news articles and features.Ensure all data visualisations are accurate, clear, and effectively communicate the intended message.Stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in data journalism and visualisation.Contribute to the development of data journalism best practices within the newsroom.Who are you?
Proven experience as a Data Journalist or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of data-driven stories and visualisations.Proficiency in data visualisation tools, particularly Flourish and Infogram.Strong storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible and engaging manner.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced newsroom environment.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Familiarity with data analysis software and programming languages is a plus.A degree in journalism, data science, or a related field is preferred.News BenefitsNews Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
