The position includes monitoring the SOC toolsets identifying gaps and anomalies in IT system activity, creating and develop use cases to provide context and framework for ongoing monitoring and anomaly detection within ICT systems, identifying security events, escalating potential incidents and assists with incident response activities and the documentation of activities and provide specialist advice on areas of ongoing monitoring in developing and existing systems.

The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.

**ABOUT THE COMPANY**
The Australia Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) is the lead agency for geospatial data, information and intelligence for Defence and the National Intelligence Community. AGO's purpose is to shape the strategic environment, deter actions against Australian interests, and respond with credible military force when required.

Situated in Canberra, AGO is a small organisation of TSPV cleared workers that is rapidly growing. Exciting projects such as DEF100 and DEF101 are managed by AGO.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Under direction, supervise the operation of information systems, ensuring they are operating as intended and in accordance with changes to the security environment.
- Contribute to development or improvement of information security policy, standards and guidelines
- Contribute to and implement an Incident Response Plan for the relevant platforms and hosted solutions.
- Development of SOC use cases to support the implementation and ongoing monitoring of ICT systems
- The identification and escalation of security matters associated with the relevant platforms and hosted systems.
- Investigate major breaches of security, and recommend appropriate control actions and mitigations.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED**
- Providing technical services relating to the set up and/or running of a SOC capability.
- Demonstrated experience in incident response activities associated with identified system threats.
- Demonstrated experience with tuning tools associated with the delivery of a SOC. This may include tuning at the source or within the SOC boundary.
- Australian Citizenship and a TSPV security clearance is essential.
