Goal Group is seeking expressions of interest for current and upcoming Export Controls opportunities to join our expanding team, providing support to Defence and Defence industry/adjacent industry clients. You will join a vibrant and growing Export Controls team at Goal Group. Tasks will vary depending on your skills and the assignment and may include but not be limited to:
- Development and implementation of complete Trade Compliance Frameworks for clients
- Providing specialist advice to clients pertaining to Defence Export and Import activities, trade compliance oversight, solutions and recommendations in facilitating import and export activities, such as guidance on agreements, licenses and permits
- Development or improvement of client Technology Control Plans
- Data Management review / consolidation and organisation of current client records or assisting with internal compliance reviews and audits; conducting spot checks on processes and trade compliance data integrity and/or creation of audit/Compliance Check methodology.
- Recordkeeping processes compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Australian Defence Export Controls, European and other relevant policy requirements, Export Control rules and regulations.
- Ensuring that client Project teams fully understand their access, re-export and transfer obligations.
- Preparing periodic reports based on agreed set of KPIs as well as reporting non-compliance, corrective actions and impacts.
- Delivering ITC/EC training to various clients and stakeholders, via both online and face to face methods
- Ensure that projects have attained the required permits/license in support of tangible/in-tangible export and manage any changes to the authorisations accordingly.
- Researching changes to legislation and other activities pertinent to clients and their compliance obligations including identifying 'red flags' with a keen eye to relevance and impact on clients
- Writing and /or contributing to thought leadership: Export Controls blogs, articles etc and other tasks as may be required.
**About you**
- Possess current/recent experience in an International Trade compliance / Export Controls (ITAR) role is required (or knowledge gained in adjacent functional roles such as contracts/ commercial administration or similar, within the Defence Sector.
- Knowledge of Australian, U.S. and European Export Controls laws, Customs Regulations and experience in overall compliance with facilitating import and export activities in the Australian Defence environment.
- The ability to obtain and hold a Commonwealth of Australia (CoA) Security Clearance is essential for work in this space. Please note, only Australian Citizens are eligible to obtain an Australian CoA (Defence) NV1 Security Clearance.
- Experience in delivering International Trade Compliance/Export Controls training is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications in international commerce, Law, economics, policy or international relations will be highly regarded.
- Ability to work independently, but collaboratively, as part of a team, be it on-site, hybrid or remotely - depending on your location / location of assignment. Some travel may be required for remote workers eg: a few days to a week a month (flexible).
