The Pharmacy Department, located at Townsville University Hospital are seeking a client focused Pharmacist to act as a research officer to support the RECARD study (Reducing hospital re-admission for high-risk CARDiology patients)
This study is part of a larger body of research funded by a Medical Research Future Fund Grant.

About the opportunity
The project is implementing a pharmacist-led interdisciplinary transition of care service in cardiology patients.
It aims to improve patient re-integration from hospital to community and reduce medication-related harm readmissions.
Duties include:
Administrative paperwork associated with participant recruitment, consent and education.
Supporting data collection and data cleaning.
Maintaining research records and databases.
Adhering to project requirements as per study protocol and other supporting documents.

Salary range: $43.68 to $58.59 p.h. (HP3)
4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading
Professional Development allowance and leave

Possession of a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution.
Registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
While not mandatory, a post graduate qualification (diploma or similar) would be well regarded.
While not mandatory, A post-graduate research experience will be highly regarded.
The following will also be highly regarded:
Experience working with cardiology patients
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated research skills and previous project completions (QUM or other).
The position may be required to work across any of the sites / facilities within the Townsville Hospital & Health service based on current service needs and priorities.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
