Base pay range: A$85,000.00/yr - A$105,000.00/yr
Your role:
Join the Army's proficient and quick-thinking legal team as a Lawyer. In this role, you'll become well-versed in a stimulating mix of disciplines. The fields you'll work in include disciplinary, administrative, operations, civil and commercial law, as well as handling legal aid requirements. You'll also be trained to lead and mentor a team of passionate lawyers, motivating them to succeed in their work. The fields of military legal practice are interchanging and expanding, with plenty of challenging opportunities for someone who loves a challenge.
Throughout your career, you'll be able to advance your skillset with short courses and additional qualifications. On top of all this, you'll have opportunities to travel around Australia and abroad. In the Army you'll receive a highly competitive salary from day one, with pay increasing as you progress through training. On completion of your initial military and employment training, you could earn up to A$105,076 per annum plus a generous super.

Responsibilities and expectations
Provide legal services across disciplinary, administrative, operations, civil and commercial law areas.
Lead and mentor a team of lawyers to achieve high-quality outcomes.
Engage in legal aid requirements and related activities as part of military legal practice.
Participate in ongoing professional development through short courses and qualifications.
Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Qualifications and requirements
Admitted as a Barrister and/or Solicitor of the High Court of Australia, or of the Supreme Court of a State or Territory of Australia.
Preference given to candidates with more than 18 months of Solicitor experience.
Australian citizen and able to obtain security clearance.
If not an Australian citizen, you may still be eligible to join the ADF if you meet certain criteria (see the ADF Careers Eligibility Page for details).
