**About the role**
The Demand Planner is integral to the success of V/Line's Warehouse and Supply Chain Group. The Demand Planner ensures optimal inventory levels by forecasting and planning maintenance and project materials. Collaborating with key departments, they develop forecasting models, analyse material needs, and drive supply chain improvements. This role will also support the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and establish efficient planning procedures
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Create models for predicting long and short-term maintenance and project material needs.
- Help analyse and plan spare parts needs and material lifecycles.
- Optimise planning in JDE for efficient supply chain improvement.
- Review and analyse material requirements for the Annual Works Plan, Projects, and Technical Maintenance Plan, facilitating informed market engagement.
- Help establish and enhance strong planning and supply processes and procedure.
- Work closely with Asset Planning, Projects, Finance, and Contracts Manager to develop short and long-term forecasting models.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
- Ensure high internal customer satisfaction through responsive and proactive services.
**About you**
- Proven demand planning, supply planning or inventory experience
- Must be an organised starter with good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions and drive change.
- High degree of numeracy and analytical capability.
- Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.
**Advantageous**
- Project delivery background is highly regarded.
- Qualification in business, logistics or supply chain management related fields.
