Medical Practice Administrator - Rochester Outreach ClinicCASUALSwan Hill District Health is looking for a casual Medical Practice Administrator to join our Primary Health Care team in Rochester.
This position plays a crucial role in delivering outreach support services, with a strong focus on supporting recovery efforts within the Rochester community.
This outreach clinic is a key part of a larger project to improve the sustainability of primary care.We require a reliable, enthusiastic and motivated person to cover annual leave and unplanned personal leave.As the Medical Practice Administrator, you will be responsible for providing exceptional reception and administrative support to patients, doctors, and staff.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice, maintaining high standards of customer service, organisation, and attention to detail.Key ResponsibilitiesAnswer telephone inquiries and manage messages professionally.Schedule appointments and coordinate with patients and their families.Liaise with healthcare professionals and staff.Maintain patient records, scan, file, and prepare documentation.Manage mail, order supplies, and organise meetings as required.Support financial transactions, including cash and EFTPOS payments.Ensure the cleanliness, accessibility, and professionalism of the practice.Assist with nurse and doctor-led clinics and perform other duties as directed.Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.Key Selection CriteriaAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.Strong computer literacy and proficiency in administrative tasks.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Recent CPR training or willingness to complete training.Current National Police Check, Working with Children's Check, and immunisation compliance as per the Health Services Act.Applicants must be reliable, flexible and available at short notice.Experience in medical reception or a similar administrative role.Familiarity with medical practice software (e.g., Best Practice).
Knowledge of Medicare Benefits Schedule and medical terminology.Understanding of general practice accreditation and standards.Understanding of Local Rochester Community and surroundsWhy Join SHDH?
