**About the role**

SLS requires a casual ( 1 to 3 days per week ) Entry Level Laboratory Technician to join our Melbourne ( Williamstown North ) NATA accredited Chemical Testing Laboratory to perform sampling on soil, water, and air samples in a fast-paced laboratory.

What we are looking for is a technically oriented person with great attention to detail ready to start their scientific career, Recent graduates, or someone with up to 2 years' experience are encouraged to apply.

**Your main responsibilities will include**:

- Weighing and preparation of the samples
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation in accordance with national standards
- Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory quality control and quality assurance systems
- Report low stock of consumables, standards, chemicals etc

**Skills and experience that may be required**:

- Ability to work in team or independently
- Ability to reason and interpret with good attention to detail and clear record keeping
- Intermediate or higher in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Full rights to work full-time in Australia
